Villa Chimo
A whole house on the water, with a private pool and direct beach access. Two bedrooms, four people, one booking at a time.
The house
Villa Chimo
I grew up coming to Chimo. When I could finally build here, I made the house I wanted: the pool cut into the rock, the clay-tile roof, the fireplace outside, and the mountain and the ocean coming in through the same window.
I rent it whole, one booking at a time. The pool, the terrace and the beach in front of it are yours for as long as you stay.

Why here
Privacy and quiet
What makes this house different is not an amenity. It is that nobody else is here. No rooms next door, no shared pool, no one passing through. You arrive, and the place is yours until you leave.
And there is the ocean, which here is not scenery but a pantry. The fishermen leave before dawn and come back with the day's catch. From the wave to the pan, as they say in the village.

The table
From the wave to the pan
The fishermen leave before first light and come back with the day's catch. What reaches the table is up to you.
Included
American breakfast
Included in your stay. We are still refining the menu, so if you have any dietary restriction, tell us and we will sort it out.
On request
Lunch and dinner
Ordered in advance and cooked at the house. Fish and seafood from the day's catch when the sea allows it.
Before you arrive
Your kitchen stocked
Send us your list and we shop in Vallarta or El Tuito so you arrive to a full fridge. There is no supermarket in Chimo.
Two things we always say
You are in the jungle, and the jungle has wildlife
Chimo sits between the ocean and the hills, and that is exactly what makes it what it is. It also means insects get in, and now and then a scorpion. The house is treated and checked, but it is a house in the jungle, not a hotel room in a city.
If anyone in your group is allergic to a scorpion sting, tell us when you book. This matters: the village health post keeps emergency injections, but there is rarely a doctor on site, and we would much rather know beforehand than at midnight.
How we look after the house while you are here
Housekeeping comes on the third day of your stay, without you having to ask. If you stay longer, we repeat it.
The house has security and a backup generator, and it is pet friendly: if you are bringing a dog, tell us the size so we can get everything ready.
Where it is
Chimo, Cabo Corrientes
About 30 kilometres south of Puerto Vallarta along the coast. There is no paved road to the village: you arrive by boat or on the dirt road from El Tuito.
The map comes from Google. It only loads if you ask for it, so no cookies are set without telling you.
